I have been loving taking part in the twitter365 photo project. The aim is to take a photo that someone depicts oneself every day for a year.

When I started I didn’t know how long I would last. There have been a couple of days when I have just taken a photo with minutes to spare and there are several photos that were taken for the sake of having a photo taken.

They say a picture tells a thousand words and that can be the case. When I look through all my twitter365 photos I can remember the day and what happened or how I was feeling. It is like a visual diary. But it is also more than that. I has developed my sense of self. I have usually hated having my photo taken. I still look at some of my photos and all I see are my tuck-shop arms or multiple chins. And there have been some I have refused to put up!

But today I was quite daring! It is MIML™s birthday. And apart from the fact that we have reached that stage in our relationship where we can give a leaf blower/vac/mulcher (that can be used as a rocket apparently!) and a kettle that determines the correct water temperature for the kind of tea you are wanting to brew, I wrapped myself up for him! In 5 metres of red organza! And I allowed a photo to be taken. And I put it up online, with some of my skin showing!

And I love the photo! MIML™ has it as his desktop pic! It made both of us giggle. And it made me realise that as I have been told so many times before, sexy is a state of mind and when two people care for each other the way MIML™ and I do it can be the small presents or unexpected ones that cause some mirth!

Happy Birthday gorgeous Man in My Life™! <3!

No, no Christmas in July, but you know that other important season of the year- birthday season!

Yesterday, I had the best birfdai eva! Well almost!

MIML™ was working in the morning so I dragged myself off to Fusion Organics for brunch. It was nice spending time alone and responding to SMSs and tweets full of well wishes. Then to the gym for an hour of boxing. I don’t think my body has worked out that the maximum heart rate should be lower now that I am a year older, but that’s cool!

Had a quick coffee with MIML™ before getting the kids from their dad. We had some time together at home before heading out to dinner with friends at our favourite Cairns restaurant- Paddywhacks. All in all a great day!

And yes, I was spoilt! New sunnies from MIML™ and some gorgeous earrings and candles from the kids. Gin, and candles from friends (they know me well!).

This year is so far shaping up to be pretty fine! If only we could have more birthdays each year! Then I wouldn’t mind living to 500!

A perfect day indeed!

Or when too much music is never enough!

For those who haven’t twigged it’s mah birfdai on Friday! MIML™ being the gorgeous lovely man he is suggested he get me an iPod for my birthday as mine was cactus, even after he had replaced the battery. Of course my big surprise was on Saturday when he gave it to me almost a week early! Hehe! Now to fill 120gb of Classic goodness!

So I have been ripping cds from my collection and filling the harddrive on Matilda the Macbook. A lot of this is classical and/or choral. A lot I have never listened to and some I have forgotten how beautiful it is.

Take:

The Silver Swan by Orlando Gibbons

Now this has to be one of the most beautiful pieces ever written and I remember singing it at school- I think it was a Speech Night or something. But anyway! I have also included other selections in my iTunes that I have never listened to- Franck, Scriabin, and Novák to name but 3, but also some classics that I know I will never listen to, like Nana Mouskouri!

I suppose at least in doing this I will never have to go hunting for them and, er, torrent pay to download them if/when I do want to listen.

Oh and the funny thing- CDs I paid $32 for in the early 1990s are now on iTunes for around $15. I really doubt we will be paying for music in the next 10 years anyway.

And for those wondering if MIML™ has anything up his sleave for my actual birthday- he has promised me a bukkit! I know! My own bukkit!I hear he has sent out a search party even…

And as an aside for Shakespearian scholars who read my bog (you must be out there!) I am not saying that I need more music to gorge myself and stop listening and stop thinking about other people who I think about a lot (Hi MIML™!) I can haz iPod to fill!

It’s my birthday in 13 sleeps. I know. So hard to believe I will now be on the ‘to late’ side of mid thirties. And yet I still look much younger (please humour me!)

Now if you were wondering what to get me, well I do need a new box grater of all things and I could do with a pedicure or a massage… But these really caught my eye:

I mean what the! Obviously for those with more dollars than sense. And I never wear that much eye make-up so they probably wouldn’t suit me. Oh and I don’t think they are noise reducing. But I do think there are other things you could spoil me with for US$6400 than blingy earphones!
