The weekend that was…

I am tired and do need an early night so might just dot point…

  • Wow! Undara is an amazing place. We had (on the whole!) an absolute ball!
  • The kids are not used to longer car drives. Or perhaps it is just their job to whinge. Oh and Jasper, yes we are there yet!
  • Where there is no ambient light and a New Moon the stars will look amazing. This is, of course, amplified by the company of someone very special. And yes, we did look at the stars some of the time, but I did also see them reflected in his eyes as we danced on the road!
  • Ferrets were domesticated over 2,500 years ago.
  • Nothing beats a bush breakfast with Billy Tea cooked over a campfire and bacon and eggs cooked by a German on a working holiday visa!
  • Road Trains can be long, but Grey Nomads pulling caravans are more dangerous!
  • They do speak slower in country Queensland. They do, really!
  • Not everyone will appreciate the scenic route
  • Tents don’t really have moulded bottoms and bunk beds in them. I have promised MIML™ that I will go proper camping with him and I am really looking forward to this.
  • MIML™ is the best kisser (sorry if this is TMI, but it really has to be said!)
  • If ever you are at the Ravenshoe Bakery, have a Granny Slice- Vanilla Slice with a layer of chocolate and caramel custard and cream in flaky pastry. To die for! I think all country bakeries must have their own delicacies!
  • You will never be able to satisfy everyone with your choice of music on a car trip.
  • No one has afternoon news bulletins on the radio in rural Queensland on a Sunday.
  • Telstra Next G network has more coverage than some other carriers (No names hey Optus boy!)
  • I can survive without internet access for 2 days (well 2 days one night!) and I didn’t check my mobile browser either!
  • Photos from the weekend can be found here.

You’ll be surprised how long you can go off the grid when you have somebody to dance with. Sounds like you had a great weekend, the pics were beautiful.

Why not comment, critique or criticise?
